Toth named SEC OL of The Week

For his part in Kentucky’s 656-yard outburst Saturday in a 59-14 win over UT-Martin, sophomore center Jon Toth was named the SEC Offensive Lineman of the Week, the league office announced Monday night.

Toth graded out at 91 percent in the season-opening win by the Wildcats. He played without a penalty or a missed assignment, according to the UK coaching staff, and recorded three knockdown blocks.

The 6-foot-5, 301-pound Indiana native, who was a member of the All-Freshman SEC team last season, earned the weekly honor for the first time in his career. He is also a member of the preseason Rimington Trophy watch list.

With Toth anchoring an O-Line that featured two first-time starters in Ramsey Meyers and Kyle Meadows, UK posted the fourth-highest yardage total in school history. The Cats rushed for 234 yards and passed for 422.

Kentucky (1-0) returns to action Saturday against Ohio in a 3:30 p.m. ET kickoff at Commonwealth Stadium. The game will be televised live on ESPNU.
