WILDCAT KEYS TO THE GAME:
When Kentucky has the ball… The Cats will need the type of balance they displayed in the blowout of UT-Martin to keep a solid Ohio defense guessing. This matchup is a big step up in quality of competition, especially along the defensive front for the Bobcats, so the UK offensive line will play a key role in how this one develops. The Cats get senior left tackle Darrian Miller back this week after a one-game suspension for a violation of team rules, which will allow Jordan Swindle to move back to the right side, his more natural position. Sophomore tailback JoJo Kemp may need to play a bigger role this week if Braylon Heard’s sprained ankle won’t allow him to play, along with freshmen Stanley "Boom" Williams and Mikel Horton. Ohio weakside linebacker Jovon Johnson (No. 51) had 11 tackles and two TFL in the Bobcats' first game. Defensive end Tarell Basham (No. 93) was a FWAA Freshman All-American last season.

When Ohio has the ball… The Cats must account for a dual-threat quarterback in Derrius Vick, who completed 18 of 24 passes for 262 yards and two touchdowns while rushing for 35 yards on eight carries in last week’s 17-14 win over Kent State. Those type of quarterbacks have always seemed to hurt UK, so this will be a good test to see how Stoops & Co. fare against one in Year Two with more talent on the roster. The Bobcats racked up 437 yards in total offense against the Golden Flashes, but turned the ball over four times, killing several drives. The UK defense, which forced five turnovers last week, will need to be opportunistic again in order to slow down a much better offense than the one UT-Martin featured.

MILESTONE WATCH:
Senior defensive end Bud Dupree has 16 career sacks, needing one more to tie for fourth most all-time in school history.

ON THIS DAY IN UK HISTORY:
Saturday marks the fifth time in school history that the Wildcats have played a game on Sept. 6 Kentucky holds an all-time record of 3-1 on this date. UK’s first ever game on this date was its season opener in 1980 when it defeated Utah State 17-10 in Lexington. The Wildcats’ lone loss on this date was in 1997 to Mississippi State in Starkville.

NOTES:
• Kentucky set a school record by averaging 10.8 yards per offensive play in the UT-Martin game. The new mark ranks ninth in Southeastern Conference history.

• A total of 25 players saw their first playing time as a Wildcat in the season opener, including nine true freshmen, 10 redshirt freshmen, one sophomore and five transfers. If you include Patrick Towles, Josh Clemons, J.D. Harmon, Jabari Johnson and Zack Blaylock – who did not see game action in 2013 – a total of 30 players who did not play in 2013 played in UK’s 2014 season opener.

• UK’s five forced turnovers vs. UT-Martin is one-third of the 2013 season total of 15. UK had two interceptions after recording just three last season.
