Marcus Lewis (6-2, 187) has the Cats among his top three as his recruitment winds down. He is also considering Miami and Washington State, but holds a slew of scholarship offers from other top programs such as Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Oregon and Tennessee.
Mark Stoops' staff has been targeting DBs with more size and length, attributes that make Lewis an elite prospect. He's a versatile player who could play either corner or safety at the next level.
Kentucky's current recruiting class, ranked No. 24 nationally by Scout, has three defensive backs (Jeremiah Dinson, Marcus Walker and Kei Beckham) and one receiver/defensive back (David Dowell) thus far among 18 commitments. The Cats are expected to sign up to five players in the secondary for 2015.
Lewis is a teammate of UK wide receiver commitment Jabari Greenwood and a close friend of current Wildcat Kobie Walker, a 2014 linebacker signee from the D.C. area.
