Cats' Cody named preseason All-America

Coming off a strong 2014 performance and a breakout showing in the Cape Cod League this summer, Kentucky pitcher Kyle Cody has been named a preseason All-America by Collegiate Baseball Newspaper.

The publication named Cody, a junior right-hander, to its third-team preseason All-America list on Friday. He's coming off a sophomore year which saw him post a 4-0 record and a 2.84 ERA.

Cody has posted a 7-3 record and a 4.05 ERA in his two seasons with the Wildcats. He has a 3.18 career ERA in SEC competition.

The Wisconsin native had a great showing in the Cape Cod League this summer, earning a starting nod in the CCBL All-Star Game. He posted a 2.72 ERA in nine starts, striking out 34 batters and walking just 11 over 36.1 innings pitched.
