Tavin Richardson had long thought to be a heavy lean towards Kentucky. In late January, he chose to publicly commit to Mark Stoops' club. On signing day, he cemented his decision by signing his letter of intent.

Ultimately his relationship with wide receivers coach Tommy Mainord was what made the difference.

"Coach Mainord led to my commitment. We had built a great relationship. Secondly because (Kentucky) had been recruiting me the longest. I just feel at home there," he said.

Richardson chose Kentucky over UCF and arch rival Louisville. Now that he's a Wildcat he's excited about getting on campus with the rest of the Wildcats.

"I'm looking forward to building relationships with other teammates and coming in and competing with other teammates. And also competing against other players on our schedule," he finished.

Richardson, 6-foot-4, 220-pounds, could turn into a tight end prospect or even flex out wide. He caught 43 passes for 457 yards and five touchdowns this season.
