A native of Cincinnati, Mahan helped the Wildcats post a 5-0 record last week to open their home schedule. The UK shortstop/third baseman highlighted his week with a 3-for-4 game against Murray State. His two-run double in the finale of the Northern Kentucky series helped the Cats secure a three-game sweep.
Mahan capped the strong week at the plate without striking out. He also stole his first career base.
For the season, he is batting .308 with three doubles, one triple and five RBI.
Kentucky (12-3) takes a 10-game winning streak into Tuesday’s home game against Mahan’s hometown Cincinnati Bearcats and All-American slugger Ian Happ. First pitch is slated for 7 p.m. ET at Cliff Hagan Stadium.
