A fellow wide receiver, Russ Yeast is an explosive player like his father who makes life difficult for the defense. The young Yeast excels in the open field, as he weaves through would-be tacklers on the way to daylight.
“I describe myself as a play-maker,” Yeast told Scout previously. “My biggest strength is my route-running and my hands.”
Standing at 5-foot-11, 180-pounds, Yeast is already larger than his father was as a college senior. He has the look of a slot receiver, but could play some on the outside as well. It’s expected that he’ll grow a little more and will put on more muscle when he reaches the college level.
As he continues to physically develop, Yeast should be a major contributor for Shannon Dawson’s Kentucky offense. And with two more seasons in high school before he makes it to Lexington, high expectations are warranted for Yeast.
