Elite Prospects Expected to be on Hand for Kentucky Wildcats' "Big Blue Madness"

Kentucky’s annual “Big Blue Madness” celebration is always one of the top destinations for the country’s top high school basketball prospects, and this year’s event is no exception.

The Wildcats plan to have the Class of 2016’s top player at three different positions on campus, including No. 1 overall prospect/power forward Harry Giles (pictured above), point guard De’Aaron Fox and shooting guard Malik Monk.

"As usual, Kentucky has a loaded group of visitors for Big Blue Madness," said Scout Director of Basketball Recruiting Evan Daniels. "They have three of their top-tier targets in town, so it will be a pivotal weekend for them."

Kentucky is locked in fierce recruiting battles for Giles (Duke, North Carolina, Wake Forest, Kansas) and Monk (Arkansas, Kansas, Florida State, Oregon, UNC), but many analysts now consider the Cats to be the leader for Fox, who emerged this summer as the top point guard after dominating several AAU and camp events.

Also expected to be at Rupp Arena for the festivities are five-star center Edrice “Bam” Adebayo, five-star center Jarrett Allen, five-star point guard Kobi Simmons and five-star shooting guard Rawle Atkins. Each player is currently rated among Scout’s top 20 prospects for 2016.

John Calipari currently has verbal commitments from three players in the senior class, all frontcourt players in the form of five-star power forward Wenyen Gabriel (No. 10), four-star power forward Sacha Killeya-Jones (No. 29) and four-star center Tai Wynyard, a New Zealand product who has been rumored for early enrollment at UK in January to be part of the 2015-16 team. Killeya-Jones is expected to join the other visitors on campus this weekend.

Two elite juniors, center Wendell Carter (No. 2) and wing John Petty (No. 16), have also stated they plan to be at Big Blue Madness.
