Notes from Kentucky coach Mark Stoops' weekly Monday press luncheon

Two days removed from an embarrassing 52-21 home loss to Tennessee, Kentucky coach Mark Stoops was still stewing over the Wildcats' performance during his weekly press luncheon Monday at Wildcat Den.

"I was very upset and disappointed in the way that we played versus Tennessee," Stoops said. "Going back and looking at the film, the frustration is still there. Just inconsistent in all phases, and that’s not winning football."

Film review indicated the Cats did not lack effort against the Vols, Stoops said, but UK had far too many failed individual matchups to compete in an SEC game.

Kentucky (4-4, 2-4 SEC) now prepares for Saturday's trip to Georgia. The Bulldogs (5-3, 3-3 SEC) are also coming off a disappointing performance, a 27-3 loss to rival Florida.

"We are looking forward to Georgia," Stoops said. "That is the beautiful thing, we have another great challenge going in and playing at Georgia, on the road, and a team that is probably upset just like us. The only way you can erase this feeling in your program is to get a victory, I am sure they feel the same way, just like we do to go out and play a very good game this week."
