Kentucky Wildcats linebackers/special teams coach Andy Buh leaving for job at Maryland

Turns out, the UK football coaching staff carousel still has not finished its rounds.

The Wildcats learned Monday that linebackers/special teams coach Andy Buh will be departing to take the defensive coordinator's position at Maryland. The move was first reported by AllWildcats' Patrick Loney.

It marks the fifth member of Mark Stoops' 2015 coaching staff that has changed jobs during the offseason, including offensive coordinator Shannon Dawson, running backs coach Chad Scott, wide receivers coach Tommy Mainord, defensive backs coach Derrick Ansley and Buh.

The latest move comes at an unusual time as the Cats are in the middle of spring practice. Buh spent only one year in Lexington.

“I want to thank Coach Buh for his work and his commitment to our program during his time here,” Stoops said in a statement released by UK. “I have a lot of respect for Andy as he is extremely passionate and very detailed. He has good balance between being disciplined and having energy and our players loved playing for him. There is no doubt he will have success as a defensive coordinator and I wish Andy and his family the best.”
