Florida WR/DB Clevan Thomas commits to Kentucky Wildcats after camping in Lexington

One of the top performers at Kentucky's Sunday Night Lights Camp left Lexington as a new Wildcat.

Clevan Thomas, a wide receiver/defensive back from Pembroke Pines (Fla.) Flanagan High School, announced Monday that he has verbally committed to Mark Stoops' program.

The three-star prospect is currently ranked No. 22 in the Sunshine State at the wide receiver position, although he also had some strong moments at defensive back in UK's summer camp finale.

Thomas (6-0, 200, 4.58) also held early offers from programs like Michigan, Louisville, Syracuse and Vanderbilt, as well as interest from Florida State, where his father of the same name was a defensive back in the 1990s. Earlier this spring, he was one of the Top 10 offensive prospects at The Opening Orlando event.

The Cats now have 11 commitments in the Class of 2017. Thomas joins Joshua Ali as the second receiver on board.
