Kentucky Wildcats honor state's mining heritage with new third-down whistle at CWS

Kentucky Football unveiled a new feature Friday that will honor the state's mining heritage during certain game situations at Commonwealth Stadium this season.

Fans will hear a special whistle as part of a rock music montage when the UK defense is on the field and facing a third-down situation.

On Friday, a pair of eastern Kentucky natives on the Cats' defensive unit, junior defensive tackle/fullback Jacob Hyde of Clay County and freshman linebacker Kash Daniel of Paintsville, previewed the whistle on UK's social media accounts.
