The recruiting pace is picking up for Sam McGrew. The defensive prospect from Crawfordville (Fla.) Wakulla High School has recently received scholarship offers from both Florida State and Florida.
"Steve Spurrier actually offered me a scholarship himself," said McGrew. "Kentucky, South Florida, Louisville and West Virginia have offered as well."
Wakulla defeated Alachua (Fla.) Sante Fe High School yesterday 42-0 and McGrew only played a quarter and in that quarter he had 4 tackles and returned a fumble for a touchdown.
"I am not really focused on recruiting right now. But I do know that I will be loyal to the schools that have recruited me the hardest from the get-go."
McGew, 6-3 and 220 pounds, 4.6 in the 40, recorded 103 tackles and nine sacks as a junior. He is a cousin of former Gator defensive tackle and San Francisco 49er Reggie McGrew.
