Kentucky Wildcats' De'Aaron Fox named SEC Freshman of The Week

Kentucky point guard De'Aaron Fox claimed his second SEC Freshman of The Week award on Monday.

Fox's memorable week included only the second triple-double in UK basketball history with 14 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists against Arizona State. He added 20 points and a game-high nine assists against UCLA.

The Houston native averaged 17.0 points, 9.5 assists and 6.5 rebounds for the week. His season assist average of 7.8, which ranks third nationally, is on pace to break the school record set by Tyler Ulis last season.

He also claimed the honor after the opening week of the season. Backcourt mate Malik Monk also won the award, giving UK a winner in three of the first four weeks.

South Carolina's PJ Dozier won SEC Player of the Week after averaging 20.5 points, 6.5 rebounds and 3.5 steals in a pair of wins by the Gamecocks.

The No. 6 Cats (7-1) return to action Wednesday at Rupp Arena against Valparaiso. Tipoff is slated for 8 p.m. ET on the SEC Network.
