Wenyen Gabriel Talks Improvements at Kentucky Wildcats' Practice

Kentucky freshman forward Wenyen Gabriel says practices have become tougher and more competitive since the Wildcats were upset at home by UCLA last Saturday.

Gabriel noted that expectations are high to win every game at UK, and that the Cats were "devastated" to have their 42-game home winning streak snapped by the Bruins.

They'll face another challenge on Wednesday as Valparaiso (7-1) and the Crusaders' top NBA prospect, Alec Peters, come to Rupp Arena.

The long, 6-foot-10 Gabriel figures to draw the defensive assignment on Peters, a senior combo forward who is averaging 25.4 points and 9.1 rebounds per game. More than two dozen NBA scouts are slated to be in town for the game.
