Cats tapping Tallahassee Godby for talent

Kentucky got what it considered to be a "steal" in defensive back Mike Williams last year out of Tallahassee's Godby High School. Now, the Cats are back in the Sunshine State pursuing more Godby talent...

Having tapped Tallahassee's Godby High School for a hidden gem in defensive back Mike Williams last year, the Kentucky Wildcats are keeping their profile high at the talent-laden Florida program.

Kentucky currently has scholarship offers in on at least two Godby stars, Brian Johnson on the offensive side and Edmond Miles on defense.

Johnson, a 6-foot-5, 295-pound lineman with 5.1 speed and a 375 bench, was a second-team all-state selection as a junior. He has also received offers from Alabama, LSU, Clemson and USC, but says he's still awaiting further contact from his favorite school, Florida.

Miles, a 6-0, 200-pound linebacker with 4.57 speed and an impressive 365 bench, was also an all-state honoree as a junior when he recorded 136 tackles, four sacks and three interceptions.

Although he says he does not currently have a favorite, Miles has received offers from UK, West Virginia, Marshall, Tulane, Arkansas and North Carolina among others.
