A pair of Glades Central (Fla.) teammates have scholarship offers from Kentucky.
Defensive end Ray McDonald and linebacker William Beckford, who played key roles in Glades' Class 3A state championship last season, are considering the Cats among the many other offers they've been presented.
The 6-foot-3, 235-pound McDonald runs a 4.63 40 and bench presses 300 pounds. As a junior, he recorded 75 tackles and nine sacks. Those figures have helped him draw offers from UK, Virginia Tech, Auburn, Rutgers, Pitt, Boston College, Minnesota and Central Florida. He's also received interest from the likes of Miami, Georgia, Nebraska and Tennessee. His father, Ray, played for Florida.
Beckford, meanwhile, is a 6-1, 215-pound linebacker with 4.5 speed and an impressive 400-pound bench. His combination of speed and strength enabled him to make 170 tackles as a junior and earn first-team all-state honors. He's also a top wrestler, placing second in the state.
Beckford has offers from UK, Boston College, Pitt, West Virginia and Kansas State. He's also been contacted by Florida State, NC State, Georgia, Minnesota and Auburn, among others.
