Zack Thompson pitched a career-high 6.2 innings of shutout baseball and Evan White smacked a three-run home run as part of Kentucky's 8-0 win over UT Martin at Cliff Hagan Stadium.
The No. 10 Wildcats (23-11) pushed their home record to 16-2 on the season, picking up the 700th win at CHS since it opened in 1979.
Thompson (3-2) had the best start of his young career at
Zach Reks, who went 2-for-4 to notch his 14th multi-hit game of the season, and White each hit home runs for the Cats. The latter matched his career high with four RBI.
UT Martin (12-17) was limited to only five hits by the UK staff. The Skyhawks' Peyton Cain (0-3) started and took the loss, pitching only one inning, but allowing Reks' home run.
Kentucky returns to action this weekend with a three-game set at Missouri. First pitch Friday night is slated for 7:30 p.m. ET.
