Coveted QB prospect Jarren Williams re-commits to Kentucky Wildcats

Georgia signal caller had re-opened recruitment after picking up wave of major offers.

The three-star quarterback prospect from Central Gwinnett High School in Georgia, who had given a verbal commitment to Kentucky last summer, re-opened his recruitment after picking up a wave of major scholarship offers this spring that included programs like Alabama, Georgia, LSU and Florida.

Many observers believed that UK would ultimately have a difficult time bringing Williams back into the fold, but he used his Twitter social media account on Monday morning to announce that he is once again a verbal commitment to the Wildcats.

Williams (6-3, 201) is one of the nation's fastest-rising prospects. In addition to UK, Alabama and Florida, he also holds offers from programs like Georgia, LSU, Tennessee, Florida State, Louisville and Miami. Ohio State and Notre Dame also visited him at Central Gwinnett this spring.

He recently picked up an invitation to the Elite 11 Finals where he'll test his skills against the nation's other top quarterbacks in the Class of 2018.

As a junior, Williams passed for 2,618 yards and 26 touchdowns with only two interceptions. He also rushed for 429 yards and nine scores.

Kentucky now has nine verbal commitments in the Class of 2018. Seven of those are on the offensive side of the ball, including Williams, a pair of receivers, a tight end, and three O-Linemen.
