The Best Pure Shooter in Next Year's Class?

David Huertas is a 6'5' 195# Shooting guard from Puerto Rico.

He plays for Arlington Country Day School in Jacksonville, FL. To say he is a shooting guard is really an injustice. He is one of the best shooters PERIOD.

In one game last season, he hit 9/10 from three point range. And the range is out to 23-24 ft. He is not as comfortable driving to the lane although he does have the range to 12 ft. He is a great FT shooter as well.

He plays defense very well for a shooting guard. He uses his feet well and plays the passing lanes very deftly.

"He's such a prolific scorer who really knows how to play the game," Miami Tropics coach Art Alvarez said. "He knows how to play off screens, passes it well and has good court vision. But nowadays you just don't find shooters like him. He can knock it down from 25-30 feet on a consistent basis."

Huertas is a native of Puerto Rico and earned a spot at the Nike Camp last year after a quality performance at the Nike Hoop Jamboree. He was very solid at the Nike Camp and served notice that he was a guy to keep an eye on during his senior season.

David is ranked 29th by Insiders and 21 by the Geeks.
