B.J. Raymond Likes the Cats

Ohio small forward likes Kentucky.

B.J. Raymond

BJ is a 6'6" 200 Small Forward from Toledo, OH (St. John's HS). BJ is having an excellent season to which he contributes to hard work over the summer. He's averaging 19 points and 7 rebounds a contest but it's his improved jumpshot that really stands out.

"I shot, in the summer, 350 shots a day with [teammate] Brian Roberts," Raymond said. "I shot a whole bunch of jump shots with a good shooter. I saw his technique and the flaws in mine and worked on it."

The improved range and accuracy has raised his game a notch and created more scoring opportunities for him. "It's hard to match up with me during the season in Toledo. I'm one of the taller guys and it creates a lot of matchup problems. You can't just throw people at me."

Xavier has already offered Raymond a scholarship. On Sunday, January 25 he attended the Kentucky-Notre Dame game in South Bend. He's already seen the campuses of Xavier, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Michigan and Michigan State.

In addition to the aforementioned schools, he likes Connecticut, Florida, Oklahoma, Illinois and Kentucky.

"Staying around my area will be kind of important but if there's a school out there that fits me perfect I wouldn't worry about."

"It would have to be [a fun campus]. I want my parents to be able to come to some of the games and come home on breaks. It doesn't matter if it's cold or hot, I just want to be comfortable. I want to be a starter or a 6th man my freshman year."
