GA Forward High on Cats List

Very athletic, strong player can play both forward spots.

Octavius Spann

Octavius is a 6'7" 215# Forward from College Park, GA (Banneker HS). He is a very strong, very mobile, very athletic specimen. Octavius has all the tools to be a top notch performer. He just needs a little more consistency.

At 6'7" he can play both forward positions, albeit, he does not have the 3-point range. He can go to 16-17 feet with regularity but needs more consistency.

Octavius has had 2 30-point games this season, and he has had numerous double-double performances.

Octavius is also a strong defender. He uses his body and position instead of his hands and his athleticism. He almost always draws the toughest assignment of the front court opponents, whether they are the center or the wing forward. He is athletic enough to handle anyone.

Octavius will be a top 50 player. Where he ends up will depend on this summer's performances at the shoe camps and the AAU tourneys.

Georgia, Georgia Tech, Cincinnati, Indiana, Kansas, Louisville and Kentucky are VERY interested in Spann. Georgia, Kansas and Kentucky have reportedly already offered scholarships.

Octavius is right now 61 in the Geeks rankings.
