Rashad is a 6'8" 230# power forward from Atlanta, GA (Mays HS). One of the strongest and most rugged forwards in this class, he will do ALL of the dirty work required for paint play. Continues to build muscle and strength daily. He is also working on improving jump shot. Rashad scores very well in the paint, but needs more work on the wings and FT line jumpers.
Relentless rebounder, and tireless defender in the paint, he works as hard as anyone in this class.
As for the top 100?? F, he is currently receiving attention from, (in order mentioned), Florida State, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Maryland, Georgetown, Kentucky, and Tennessee.
"Not really, I'm still open," according to Chase. "Everybody is even."
"The best thing about my game is probably my defense," he added, saying he's being looked at as a combo F who can play the 3 and 4. "I need to work on my outside shot, and a different variety of post moves (before moving on to the collegiate level)."
And while he may be open right now, don't expect it to stay that way for much longer.
"I'm trying to narrow down my schools before the summer actually," said Chase. "I'm looking to make a decision sometime this summer."
Chase will spend this summer playing for the Georgia Stars on the AAU circuit, along with fellow highly thought of Atlanta area juniors Louis Williams and Mike Mercer. The Atlanta Celtics received plenty of media attention last summer with a trio of studs in their frontcourt, potential NBA top 5 picks Dwight Howard and Josh Smith, and C Randolph Morris.
The Geeks have Rashad rated 65 in their rankings.
