The 6 foot 4, 205 pound Schwindel has only one scholarship offer and that is from Kentucky (football), but action has picked up since the Wildcat coaching staff extended the offer a month ago.
"Mike is very excited about the scholarship offer from UK, but you know it is important to look at all the options," said Michael's father, Jake Schwindel.
"Mike has received a lot of mail from schools for basketball and football in the last month," stated the elder Schwindel. "He went to Louisville's recruitment day on April 10th and was very impressed."
According to his father, Mike will be attending UK's scrimmage on April 24th.
"We are currently setting up "unofficial" visits this spring and summer to Tennessee, Florida, Purdue, and Arkansas."
Michael will also be participating in his fair share of basketball events as well this summer.
In basketball, Mike will attend the Blue Chip camp in Georgetown in July. He has also received letters from Murray State, Tennessee Tech, Indiana State, Richmond, Army, Texas Tech, and Valpo for basketball.
It is still unknown which way Mike will go as far as sports in college. According to Mike's father, it is still up in the air.
"I wish I could tell you which way Mike is leaning, but we will not really know until next fall."
