A Team Player Before Joining the Team

After weeks of speculation, 6'5" Wing player Adam Williams, from St. Albans, WV, has agreed to attend Fork Union Military School upon the suggestion from UK Basketball coach Tubby Smith.

Adam Williams

The extra year will help UK and Adam, in Tex's words, ""They're really in a bind. I personally feel it'll help not only Kentucky this year with their scholarships, but it will give Adam a full opportunity to fill his maturity level. I really feel the military will be beneficial."

Coach Smith was on his way to the Portsmouth (VA) Invitational and stopped by the Williams residence to discuss this. After the meeting, Tex and Tubby left the decision in Adam's hands.

After considering the options, Adam has agreed to attend Fork Union with the premise of getting the scholarship next season. Tex supported the decision 100 percent.

Kentucky has signed Ramel Bradley and had promised Patrick Sparks a scholarship after walking on after transferring from Western Kentucky U. The Wildcats are expecting Letters of Intent from Rajon Rondo and Joe Crawford very soon.

Next season, Kentucky loses only two scholarship players, Chuck Hayes and Josh Carrier.

This action shows what type of person Adam Williams is. Adam is an extension of the person Tex Williams is. They put their team first, before themselves.

Adam is taking one for the team before he even joins the team. Adam, you are part of the family already.
