Linemen Commits to Kentucky

The Cats have received their first verbal of the 2005 recruiting season.

Trigg County prospect Kenny Turner has reportedly committed to Rich Brooks and the staff. The Cadiz (KY) native chose Kentucky over Louisville, Mississippi State, and Alabama.

The 6'7 260 pound Turner had recently visited Louisville and Kentucky for their spring games. He had only one known offer to date and that was to Kentucky.

While his height is extremely impressive, Turner will need to gain weight in college if he wants to compete for playing time at Kentucky. He is projected to play on the offensive line, but could also see some time on the defensive line if he struggles to gain weight on his frame.

Turner is the first verbal of the spring. The Cats are hoping to bring in Emmanual Harrell and Delanie Means from the junior college ranks, as well as Jan Jorgensen from his Mormon mission. From the 2004 class, the Cats are expected to add several greyshirts who plan on enrolling in January.
