South Carolina running back prospect likes Cats

Columbia (SC) High School is home to one of the finest running backs the Palmetto state has to offer in Mike Davis. On Thursday, Davis took some time to talk to Inside Kentucky about his recruitment. Check out what was said in this exclusive article.

Kentucky apparently wasn't done searching the coastal United States for running backs.

This time however, Joker and the staff are attempting to hit the state of South Carolina even harder then last year;

They are heading into Columbia.

After managing to escape the Palmetto state last year with Rafael Little, the Cats don't seem reluctant to change that course this year; setting their sights on Gamecock country and Mike Davis, a 5'11 running back prospect from Columbia (SC) High School.

"I like Kentucky," Davis told Inside Kentucky. "I like them a lot; ya know; it's a good school with a good football program."

Kentucky was one of the first schools to offer Davis in March.

"Coach Phillips has been recruiting me from the start," the senior-to-be continued. "He's a nice guy and he knows his stuff about recruiting."

Asked whether or not distance would be a factor in his recruitment:

"Distance will not be a factor. It really doesn't matter to me."

"I'll go to whichever school fits me."

And that could be any of the 12 schools that have currently offered the stud running back prospect.

"Marshall is my newest scholarship offer."

As far as summer plans, Davis is expected to attend Clemson's summer camp as well as Kentucky's.

"I don't have any favorites right now."
