Scott County WR has UK Ties

No matter where he goes, you can't help but turn your head at the sight of William Lewis from Scott County (KY). With a nice, lean physique and height that any high school kid would desire, Lewis has been one of the hottest names in the Bluegrass state this summer. He recently attended the MSL Combine in Cincinnati and has since watched his stock rise considerably.

"(Recruiting)'s been going pretty good," Scott County star William Lewis told Inside Kentucky on Monday. "Auburn, Oregon, Michigan, and Mississippi State are some new schools that are getting involved."

"I am heading to Auburn's Senior Day on July 17th."

Marshall became the first official school to offer a scholarship to Lewis -- two weeks ago. He certainly has the ties to the MAC Conference power as his uncle; John Logan, starred for the Thundering Herd in the 60's.

The bloodlines don't stop there; as Lewis' father played at Florida State and cousin Mark Logan starred at Kentucky for many years.

Currently his cousin John Logan currently returns kicks and plays wide reciever for the Cats.

Logan's brother,Brandon Logan, who has been very highly recruited by UK and UofL, has long been associated with Lewis as a possible package deal.

"Yeah, It'll be a little a factor," the senior to be explained. "We talk about going to school together, sometimes."

Many in the recruiting circles believe that Lewis is headed out of state, but he wanted to set the record straight about leaving the Bluegrass state.

"I'm not saying that I wanna get out of Kentucky, I'm just thinking it wouldn't be so bad to try something new."

"(UK and UofL) called me in May and stopped by for a visit."

A big target at 6'4, Lewis had 23 catches for 325 yards and 3 scores as a junior in a primarily wing T offense.

"We lost our quarterback, so we're looking for somebody to step up and take his spot, but we are looking pretty decent," Lewis said.
