Cats offer Louisiana Sack Master

Inside Kentucky has learned that the staff has offered Louisiana defensive end/linebacker prospect Alonzo Horton from New Orleans.

"I like the SEC and Miami," Alonzo Horton told Inside Kentucky on Tuesday night. "The SEC is the best conference in America and they play the best football."

"The best players play in the SEC and I wanna play in the best conference."

Horton is one of the most heavily sought after recruits in the state of Louisiana already garnering offers from schools such as USC, Alabama, Auburn, Florida, North Carolina, Louisville, San Diego State, Mississippi State, Michigan State, Arkansas, Nebraska, Oklahoma State, to go along with Kentucky.

"I'd say they are all even to me, as long as they are in the SEC," Horton suggested. "But if I had to say my favorites, I'd say my favorites are LSU, Miami, Auburn, and Tennessee."

Horton registered an amazing 95 tackles and 23 sackes last season for Abramson High School in New Orleans (La.). Schools are recruiting him at both defensive end and linebacker.

"I like Kentucky, but they are not up there with those guys right now."

Horton has camped at LSU and will camp at Auburn on July 17th.

It is believed that the senior-to-be is holding out for an offer from the home-town LSU Tigers.
