John Garcia Comments on Kentucky

Yesterday, Inside Kentucky was the first to offer the scoop on Brentwood High School center/power forward John Garcia. Inside Kentucky caught up with the senior-to-be and got some comments about UK becoming more involved.

The recruiting process took a more intense turn for Brentwood High School center John Garcia after he had a fantastic Reebok ABCD camp. Garcia continued his momentum by playing well at a team camp in New Jersey.

"It's gotten crazy," admitted Garcia, who will play with the Long Island Lightning in Orlando, Florida. "I do plan on using all of my five official visits."

Recently, Kentucky made a call to Garcia. "They called after my ABCD camp," Garcia said. "They told me they would watch me and evaluate me the rest of the summer. They haven't offered me yet."

Garcia added: "They spoke to me about taking a visit to their campus. I would only go far away from school for three schools -- Kentucky, North Carolina and Duke."

Richmond, Hofstra, St. John's, Seton Hall, Rutgers, Connecticut, Pittsburgh, Miami, Providence, Virginia, Syracuse, and Virginia Tech have also expressed interest. "Virginia Tech offered me recently," Garcia said. "I have other offers."

Richmond, Hofstra, St. John's, Seton Hall, Rutgers, Pittsburgh, Providence, and Miami have offered a free ride too. "I don't have a leader right now," said Garcia, who will also join the Elite in Las Vegas later this month.
