Ndudi Ebi hears the comparisons all the time. Shareef Abdur-Rahim. Eddie Griffin. Tracy McGrady.
But the lanky 6-10, 185-pound Westbury Christian (Houston, Texas) junior, who was born in London, tries not to pay attention those building him up. He just wants to bulk up and improve his game this season.
Ebi received his first letter - from Duke - during his freshman season. Now he's getting looks from the Blue Devils, North Carolina, Texas, Louisville, Kentucky, Georgia Tech, Arizona and Houston.
"All the schools come down and watch me practice a lot," he said.
He said the most active in the handwritten mail department continue to be Duke and UNC.
"I'll probably make a decision before August or September," Ebi said. "I'm going to let the school know early - probably in May - and then let everyone know in September. ... I'm not ready right now."
Ebi, who averaged 14 points, 9.5 rebounds and two blocks per game last season, is extremely versatile and isn't quite finished growing yet. He has three-point range and is very active on the offensive glass, but needs to work on his low-post moves.
