Semrau Unofficially Visits UK

Richard Semrau unofficially visited UK this past weekend. See what he had to say in his latest interview with Mike Sullivan.

He's taking his time in his recruiting process. That's the message Richard Semrau gave to Inside Kentucky tonight. Semrau, a 6-foot-9,.205-pound forward from Lutheran High School West in Rocky River, Ohio, is just a rising junior (class of 2006). But many high majors are already interested in his size and skills -- including the University of Kentucky. Semrau took an unofficial visit to Lexington this past weekend.

"I really enjoyed he trip," Semrau said. "I spent 90 percent of my time with coach (Tubby) Smith. And I spent all of my time with the assistant coaches too. They took me around the campus, showed me the Memorial Coliseum and also Rupp Arena. Rupp Arena was really big."

Richard has also been inside Ohio State's new arena on a visit. The Buckeyes campus is about an hour and a half away from Semrau while Kentucky is about six hours away, according to Richard. "It's really early in my recruiting," he said. "I am taking it slow. I enjoyed my visit. I did know a lot about Kentucky. The coaches took me around and told me how they can help me."

Semrau told Inside Kentucky he would like to take visits also to Wake Forest and North Carolina. "I don't know when but I would like to see those schools," he said. "I will also go back to Ohio State and take in a game again this season."
