Cats Making Up Ground for Heyman, Make Top 3

Kentucky's recruitment of Earl Heyman has been offly quiet in the past few weeks. Since he left Kentucky out of his top five two months ago, Heyman has seen Kentucky rise towards the top of his choices. See where UK stands currently.

Despite being double-teamed during the majority of Earl Heyman has registered double-digit tackles and four sacks.

"It doesn't matter what they do, I still make the big plays," Heyman said on Wednesday.

As a junior, the 6-foot-4, 240-pound defensive end totaled 90 tackles, including 30 for a loss and 16 sacks.

Because of his ability to continually make the 'big play,' Heyman now over nine scholarship offers, which include Louisville, Notre Dame and a host of others are expressing a high interest.

On Wednesday, Heyman started hearing from some of the coaches working to secure his commitment later this year.

"Louisville, Kentucky, Clemson and Greg Nord called from U of L and I talked with Coach Phillips and Coach Brooks from UK."

Heyman, along with Ballard teammates, juniors Demarco Williams, will unofficially visit Louisville on Sunday for the Cardinals season opener against Kentucky.

"I'll be there for sure," Heyman said.

While it may still be some time before the All-State performer makes a college choice, three teams have currently climbed to the top.

"My top three right now would be Louisville, Kentucky and Clemson," Heyman said.

Ballard will host Henry Clay on Friday night and then visit Male the following weekend.
