"This is what it's all about," Woodyard said. "Playing in the Southeastern Conferece and playing big time college football. That's why we all came to school here in the first place."
And his first meeting in the swamp should be interesting for the starting freshmen safety from LaGrange (Ga.).
"I'm looking forward to seeing my ex-teammate, Skyler Thornton, and getting an opportunity to play against him. I am looking forward to hitting him."
Woodyard has already heard the stories of the magestic palace they call the Swamp.
"I've heard the stories," Woodyard explained. "I know they are crazy fans and they will get on you from start to finish. They love their Gators down there and it will be extremely loud from start to finish."
But that doesn't mean he is necessarily scared.
"I'm ready," Woodyard exclaimed. "I know all my teammates will be ready as well. How can you not be excited about the chance to play in front of all those fans and in an environment like that?"
One thing's for sure, with so many new freshmen getting their first taste of the Swamp, one can only expect some growing pains come Saturday.
"Once the ball is snapped, it's still football."
