Kentucky Athlete Talks About BC Visit

Boston College received an official visit from Kentucky running back Alfonso Smith last weekend. Find out what he had to say about his journey to Chestnut Hill.

The weekend was bittersweet for Waggener Traditional (KY) running back/ cornerback Alfonso Smith (6-2, 195, 4.55). Smith got a chance to visit Chestnut Hill as the Eagles soundly defeated Penn State, but a sprained ankle caused him to miss his team's game against Fairdale.

"I twisted it a little bit in practice it was swollen. I should be fine by next weekend," said Smith

Waggener defeated Fairdale to improve to (4-0) on the season. Through 3 games Smith has rushed for 344 yards and 2 touchdowns.

Now onto Mr. Smith's official visit to Boston College. How was the game?

"It was great; the atmosphere there was intense. As a running back I pay attention to offensive line play and BC dominated Penn State."

Did your parents accompany you on your visit?

"Yes, they were very impressed by the academics at Boston College, we all were."

Who hosted you on your visit?

"Keith Willis Jr., he was real cool. His dad is a coach there. He was really down to earth."

Did the Eagles impress enough to earn a commitment?

"After I wrap up my trips I will know what I'm going to do most likely late December or early January."
