Semrau Sets Visit to Wake Forest

The Wildcats seem in prime position for the Class of 2006. One of the many candidates for an early commitment to the Wildcats is talented power forward, Richard Semrau.

Richard Semrau, a 6-foot-9 mobile forward from Rocky River, Ohio will set foot on Wake Forest's campus on Friday. But Wake Forest isn't the only school Semrau will visit.

The junior to be will travel to Chapel Hill to check out North Carolina's campus on Friday as well. Then he will head back to Demon Deacon country to tour the campus.

The Lutheran West High School product says there are four main schools that he is looking at right now. Kentucky, Wake Forest, North Carolina, and Illinois round out his top four schools.

When asked if anyone led for his services Semrau responded, "Kentucky is at the top. I visited there, so once I go to Wake Forest and North Carolina I'll have a better understanding of what I'm looking at."

Just like any recruit Semrau is looking for a number of different things in a school but playing time seems to be very important.

"I will also look at who is in front of me," said Semrau. "If they have a sophomore ahead of me, or if they just recruited a freshmen a year before me [I'll have to factor that in, as] I want to get some playing time at least by my sophomore [year.] So I can make my decision on that."

Semrau, who averaged 23 points and 12 rebounds a game as a sophomore, said that he hopes to end his recruiting process before the start of his senior year.
