Just last week, Richard Semrau of Rocky River, Ohio, proclaimed the University of Kentucky to be his leader. After taking two visits over the weekend, Semrau says one school is on the same playing field as Kentucky.
The 6-foot-9 forward listed his top three as Wake Forest, Kentucky, and North Carolina. Prior to his visits this weekend to Wake Forest and North Carolina Semrau stated that Kentucky had an edge over the other two.
Skip Prosser and company must have impressed Semrau this weekend because he nows says that the Deacs are at the top his list along with the Wildcats. "Wake Forest and Kentucky are on the same level right now," Semrau said.
The Lutheran West High School product visited both Wake Forest and North Carolina on Friday. While in Winston-Salem, Semrau spent the majority of his time with the coaching staff.
"We took a tour of campus [and] spent some time with Coach Prosser and Coach Kelsey," he said. "I really enjoyed it. We went through all the facilities."
Still, the prestige of North Carolina seems to be a big factor when talking about the Tar Heels. "It seems like a nice a environment," he said. "I mean we all know their basketball program is good."
Basketball is a main factor in his recruitment but academics are key as well. "Wake has great academics and that is definetly a huge factor and I know that Wake Forest is a better school than Kentucky (academic wise)," Semrau continued. "But Kentucky's history as a program is great, and I know alot about it."
Semrau dosn't have any other visits set up at this point but hopes to have a decision made by his senior year.
