Brooks, 'Cats on cusp of commitment

Alabama prospect Earl Bennett appears very close to becoming the newest Kentucky Wildcat. Just how close is he?

"I'm still considering Kentucky, Vanderbilt, Memphis, Ole Miss and Louisville. Kentucky is my leader though. They've shown me the most interest, and Coach Brown calls me nearly every week," Earl Bennett said.

When exactly might we expect a commitment from Bennett?

"I'll probably commit to Kentucky on the day of my visit to their next home game. I just love their style of play, and I think I can play early up there."

Although Bennett probably will commit soon, that doesn't mean the other schools recruiting him will be out of the picture.

"Even if I commit, I will still take all of my visits after the season to those other schools," he said. "I want to see a few places and find out what it's like."

Bennett would be a nice out-ofstate pickup for a Rich Brooks squad that's off to a tough start this fall. Bennett also has received an offer from Vanderbilt.
