'Cats continue to call 'Bama Athlete

Careg Bonner, of Huntsville High School, has missed his last two football games for violating team rules. Bonner is excited about his return to the field as Huntsville hosts rival Butler.

"Things have been going pretty good. I got into a little bit of trouble and broke a team rule. I will be back this week for our game. I missed games against Grissom and Arab. We lost both of those games. We play Butler at home this week. It is a big rival game and I am ready to get back on the field," said Bonner.

While Bonner is anxious to get back on the field, he will have a new quarterback throwing to him.

"Our starting quarterback broke his arm in two places. We have a junior that transferred from St. Louis this year. He is alright."

This fall, Bonner has attended several games.

"I went to the Auburn/Tennessee game this past weekend. I have also been to Auburn/LSU, Alabama/Ole Miss, and the Louisville/Kentucky game. I might try and go to a Mississippi State or Ole Miss game this weekend," said Bonner.

Bonner was impressed as he watched Auburn beat Tennessee.

"It was a good game. Auburn came out there ready to play. It is going to be a true test for Tennessee to bounce back and play Georgia this week."

Several coaches are making their weekly phone calls to the star tight end.

"Auburn, Clemson, Mississippi State, Alabama, Louisville, Kentucky, and Southern Miss have been calling me each week. I have not called any coaches. They are always calling me, so I really don't ever have to call them."
