Alston to decide soon?

Lamar Alston of Paducah Tilghman is one of the most sought after prospects in the Bluegrass State this year he may make his decision soon.

Defensive back Lamar Alston has helped his team, Paducah Tilghman, to a 47-10 win over Hopkins County Central this past weekend, improving their record to 4-2.

The 6-foot-1, 190-pound athlete has recovered from a strained muscle suffered in the season opener and is back at full strength.

"I'm back to 100%," Alston told "It feels good and it isn't bothering me anymore."

Despite holding multiple scholarship offers, including ones from Alabama, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisville and Wake Forest, it remains a three-team race for his college decision.

"It's still Louisville, Kentucky and Florida," said Alston of his favorites.

The question remains though, have the Gators extended a scholarship offer as well?

"I believe they told my coach that they were offering me, but I have written offers from Kentucky and Louisville."

He is also considering making his college destination soon.

"I need to make my decision soon," Alston explained. "I'd like to go see Florida before I do. That would help me because I have seen Kentucky and Louisville."

Will distance be a problem?

"Not to me it isn't," continued Alston. "It would be for my family though."

He currently doesn't have any unofficial or official visits scheduled.
