RECRUITING: Lewis has proactive approach

Georgetown (Ky.) Scott County high school wide receiver William Lewis (6-4, 205, 4.65) has received scholarship offers from Marshall, and Tennessee State. If Lewis has his way a few teams North of the Mason-Dixon Line will be extending an offer his way soon.

"I'm hoping that Pittsburgh and Minnesota offer me soon," said Lewis "I sent tape to both schools and the response has been positive."

Lewis is quick to point out, that he took a very pro-active approach to his recruitment.

"I looked at teams that produce talent at the position, and teams that like to throw the ball around," said Lewis "Minnesota runs a lot, but they aren't afraid to throw either. I decided to call the school's I liked instead of waiting for them."

Scott County is currently (12-2) and will play this Friday for the Regional championship. A victory would put them two victories away from a state championship. Lewis has caught 48 passes for 891 yards and 9 touchdowns this season.

Lewis has yet to schedule an official visit, but he is fairly certain of four schools that could receive visits.

"Right now I would say I'd like to visit Minnesota, Pittsburgh, Marshall, and Louisville."
