RECRUITING: 'Cats trail Louisville for Heyman

Earl Heyman, a 6-foot-3, 250-pound defensive lineman from Louisville (Ky.) Ballard was selected to play in January's Scout.com, U.S. Army All-American game in January.

Heyman has several scholarship offers and says his leader is just outside his back door.

"Lousiville is my leader right now," said Heyman. "Besides being close to home, I like the direction of the program and I like the coaching staff at Louisville.

"My favorites right now are Louisville, Indiana, Kentucky, Clemson, Nebraska and USC.

"I have a visit set up with Indiana (12-10) and I'm planning on visiting USC, Clemson and possibly Nebraska in January. USC and Nebraska haven't offered me yet."

Heyman finished the 2004 season with 16 sacks.
