RECRUITING: Danville's Turner Waiting on Kentucky

Danville (KY) native Kelvin Turner has turned some heads this season with his fabulous play for Danville High School. In 10 regular season games this season, Turner ran for an average of 176.4 yards a game and a state best, 25 touchdowns. Can the Cats keep this star in the state?

"Recruiting has been going good I guess," Turner said. "As far as the state is concerned - Kentucky, Western Kentucky and Campbellsville are all in contact. Outside the state - I get letters from Indiana every single day."

According to Turner, the Wildcats have always led for his services from the start.

"Definitely Kentucky - they are my leader, no doubt about it," Turner said. "I just love the coaching staff and the players there. I've been there a bunch and I just feel real comfortable at Kentucky. If they offer, I'd definitely commit."

Although an offer hasn't been extended, he feels it won't be long before he hears good news from the Big Blue.

"They haven't (offered) yet but they told me to get my grades up and my test score up and they would," he continued. "I took it last year and got a 16. I take it in December."

Turner also leads Kentucky's '1A' in scoring - averaging close to 20 points a game for Danville. The 5-foot-10 running back rushed for 2,136 yards as a junior, earning All-State honorable mention honors.
