FOOTBALL: More Sunday 'Cat Calls'

Check back throughout the day as updates come through from this weekend's visits. Who did Rob Gidel call this week? Boyd Coleman, Artis Warthen, Ross Bogue, Antonio Forbes, Earl Bennett, Bill Stull, Michael Donoghue, Alfonso Smith and E.J. Adams

---------------------------------------

Boyd Coleman
Cornerback
5'10 170
Wheeler High School
(Marietta, GA)

Marietta (GA) Wheeler cornerback Boyd Coleman had tentatively scheduled a visit with teammate Richie Rich to NC State this weekend, but he is going to have to visit another time.

"I actually pushed it back to January, I'm not sure the date," said the 5-foot-10, 170 pounder. "I'm going to North Carolina on the 21st (of January), I'm going to Kentucky on the 7th (of January), Minnesota on the 17th (of December). Then I have Purdue, which I haven't really found a date for yet, and NC State."

Coleman claims offers from each of the schools to which he will visit.

"Kentucky's rebuilding right now and they were one of my first - if not my first - offer," Coleman stated in an earlier update.

Antonio Forbes
Defensive End/Defensive Tackle
6'4 260
Meadowcreek High School
(Norcross, GA)

Antonio Forbes is a relative sleeper from Meadowcreek High School in the Peach State but he claims a bunch of big time offers.

"I have offers from Arkansas, Alabama, UAB, Georgia, Texas A&M, Virginia, Michigan State, East Carolina, FSU, Vanderbilt, Kentucky and some other schools. I don't think it's fair to the schools recruiting me for me to name a leader right now, but my top four is Georgia, Alabama, Arkansas and FSU," Antonio Forbes said.

Antonio took a visit out to one of his favorite schools this weekend and left extremely impressed.

"I went to Arkansas and it was off the charts. I thought I was going to a little country town but I was just blown away by the whole thing."

What did he do on his visit?

"On Friday we all met in the office and toured the academic facilities. I hung out and played video games with my host named Marcus, who was a freshman defensive end. On Saturday we basically toured the rest of the facilities and we ate the whole weekend. I think I gained about 10 pounds with as much as we ate."

What was the best part of the trip?

"We went to the Sky Box for dinner and that was absolutely the highlight. On Sunday morning we met with Coach Nutt and he said I could be a big help to their program and I could add help to their defensive line. He wanted to know what other schools liked and he asked me to commit, but they didn't force me or anything. I told him I didn't want to commit yet."

What's next on the visit slate for Forbes?

I go to Alabama on January 7th and I'm looking to set up a visit to FSU and UGA sometime in January also."

Antonio says 4 teams have come calling for him in the past week.

"Georgia and Alabama came to my house last week and Virginia and UAB came to see me at school."

Artis Warthen
Linebacker
6'3 195
Miramar High School
(Miramar, FL)

Talented 6-foot-3, 210 pound linebacker Artis Warthen is back from taking his official visit to Vanderbilt. Offer wise, not much has changed from the summer, which has disappointed the talented Floridian.

"(Recruiting) is going okay," Warthen said. "I just came back from Vanderbilt. I enjoyed my visit. They've been recruiting me pretty hard for a while now. I got a better feel for the program and the campus after this weekend."

"I'm still not ready to name a top five or a leader at this point though," Warthen continued. "Iowa's really expressed a lot of interest in me of late and I'm thinking about setting up a visit with them. I just need to talk to the coaches."

Vanderbilt, Central Florida, Kentucky and Florida International have all offered Warthen. In the past, he's expressed interest in North Carolina State, Florida and South Carolina.

"I haven't talked to Kentucky in a while," Warthen stated. "I've been wanting them too but there hasn't been any contact whatsoever from the coaches."

"South Carolina as well, I haven't heard from them since Spurrier came in and I had been talking to them for a while. Same them with Florida. I've heard nothing from them since Coach Zook got fired."
