RECRUITING: Highlands' Nevels is all but committed

Jordan Nevels finished his high school career with a State Championship and hopes for even brighter things in his college years.

At 5'11, 179 pounds, Jordan Nevels is a very versatile athlete with loads of talent. Nevels helped his Highlands Bluebirds to a 3-A State Championship with 4½ tackles. In the Title game against Boyle County, Nevels played Free Safety; a position he had not played since his junior year. Nevels' senior year he was switched to Outside Linebacker and performed very well, garnering attention from several Division I schools.

"Coach came to me on the bus to the game(against Boyle County) and asked me to play Free Safety," Nevels said. "I told coach I could do it and the team needed me there so that's what I did."

Nevels' coach, Dale Mueller, was very impressed with his performance, "Jordan played very well, considering he was out of position and hadn't played Free Safety since last year." Mueller continued, "He stepped up for his team and that's what seniors are supposed to do."

As for Nevels' recruitment, he currently holds offers from Kentucky and Ohio, but says that recently, Louisville and Wake Forest have been contacting him.

Nevels will trip to Kentucky on December 10th and says that right now, "Kentucky is my leader. I've talked with the coaches and they said they could use me at Free Safety."
