RECRUITING: Will Mike Davis visit Kentucky?

Four-star running back Mike Davis went to visit North Carolina for a day (unofficial) but stayed for the weekend (official).

"I don't know what came over me," he said. "Luckily I had some extra clothes."

Davis spent time with his player-host Ronnie McGill.

"He told me how much he liked it there and how he was glad that he chose North Carolina," Davis said. "I talked to Coach Bunting, too, and he told me that it was a good time to choose UNC because the program was turning around.

"The best thing I liked about the visit was hanging out with the players and the coaches. I really liked all of them."

Davis has a variety of potential majors like sports medicine, criminal justice, or perhaps engineering. His UNC visit was his first official and he intends to take all his visits before he decides. Other visits include Alabama, Clemson, and Auburn.

[Note: Inside Kentucky is reporting tonight that Mike Davis will make his official visit to Lexington THIS Thursday, December 9th so he can fly back for the SC-NC Shrine Bowl practice.]

"There was nothing that I did not like about the visit," he said. "It was really good. I'd have to give it a '9'.

"North Carolina is in my top 5 and they will be one of my top teams that I choose from when I decide."
