"I would say Maryland leads right now," said Chris Clinton. "They have been a slight leader for me for a while now. I like their coaches, the atmosphere and they way program has turned around the last couple of years."
What other teams are in contention for this 6'3 ½, 245 pound linebacker?
"South Carolina, Georgia and Georgia Tech are the others right now. I know I will visit all four of those schools. Kentucky may be my fifth school. I don't know much about them, but Coach Joker Phillips has been recruiting me really hard and trying to get me up there."
What does the other schools offer that has sparked Clinton's interest?
South Carolina: The biggest thing is Coach Spurrier. He did great at Florida and he is a winner.
Georgia: Tradition, location and Coaches.
Georgia Tech: Atlanta is a great city, top education and I have family in Georgia.
Kentucky: Relationship with Coach Phillips.
With in home visits beginning last week, who has visited Chris Clinton?
"The first school in was Georgia. Coach (David) Johnson came in last Monday. It was cool to just sit down and talk to him about football and life in general. We also set up my official visit. It will be on January 28th. I have Maryland and Kentucky coming in tonight to see me. That is it for this week I believe."
Clinton is a big linebacker that is being recruited to play multiple positions on the college level.
"Some teams like Georgia, Alabama like me at outside backer and Maryland and South Carolina like me inside. Others like, Central Florida, Louisville and a few more like me at rush end. I don't mind any of them. I just want to get on the field."
