CJ Davis to commit soon?

Among the host of recruits that came in for the weekend was CJ Davis, a defensive tackle/offensive lineman from Imperial (Pa). Davis talked about his official visit over the weekend and the possibilities of a commitment.

"Man, I really liked it," C.J. Davis said. "I had a real good time with the players; the coaches were cool. They said the programs getting better and that they just need to get some better recruits in there.

The 6-foot-3, 275 pound DT recently wrapped up a successful high school campaign with an impressive 11-1 record and trip to the third round of state playoffs.

"We went to the girls' basketball game and they took us onto the field," Davis said about his visit. "I was real impressed with the stadium. The facilities, as a whole, were really impressive and the players were cool."

The Wildcats, according to Davis, are recruiting him at defensive tackle. "If that doesn't work out, then they said they would move me to offense. That would be fine, because I'm pretty good on both sides."

The 6-foot-3, 275 pound Davis said that with his taking an official visit, Kentucky has now officially offered a scholarship, but his qualifying score would dictate when he would arrive.

"Yeah, they offered," Davis answered. "They said if I get eligible that I would come in the fall, if not, then I would greyshirt."

Although Davis enjoyed his visit to Kentucky, he did not officially commit. That could be because of the uncertainty surrounding the coaching staff at Pittsburgh.

"My top two is Pitt and Kentucky," Davis said. "I'm not looking to take any official visits right now. I haven't really heard from Pitt lately because of the coaching problems, so I am waiting to hear back from them."

"I'm not gonna say this weekend, but definitely possibly next weekend I might commit to Kentucky."

Davis has offers from West Virginia, Akron, Wisconsin, North Carolina and Toledo, in addition to Kentucky.
