Coach: UK Offers In-State Grayshirt

Bardstown isn't usually considered a hotspot for football recruiting targets and in particular, Wildcat coaching staffs, but that appears to be a mute point this year.

TC Drake, a 6-foot-6 215 pound prospect has only been playing football for 2 seasons, but has gotten the attention of a handful of midwestern football schools, including Kentucky, whom has apparently extended an invitation to join Kentucky in January of 2006.

"UK has offered a grayshirt scholarship to TC," Nelson County Coach Bill Mason told Inside Kentucky Tuesday. "EKU, WKU, Indiana and Miami of Ohio have all shown interest."

"TC is a 6 foot 6, 215 pound, tight end," Mason said. "TC's strength is his athletic ability. He is a big man that runs a 4.7 forty and has great coordination. He is a very aggressive and at times, a dominating blocking tight end. We were not a passing team so I'd say he had 12 catches for 250 yds and 4 TD's, but the colleges like his size, speed, and, athleticism."

"Most schools are afraid of his inexperience," Mason continued. "He played one season at TE and only 2 full seasons of football."

According to his coach, TC is waiting to see what other schools do before he makes a decision, but that his offer to UK was a surprise. We'll have a complete interview with Drake, as well as some photos in the near future.
