Grayshirt Report: Trevard Lindley

With an injury riddled defensive backfield, perhaps nobody's commitment is more important at this stage then Trevard Lindley.

"They don't have many true corners," Lindley said, "so they say I am gonna probably see a lot of playing time next year. That's fine with me."

With uncertainty surrounding Bo Smith and the graduation of several true cornerbacks, the Cats have only two players whom played a down at the defensive back spot. One of them, Karl Booker, was a converted wide receiver, walk-on.

"I'm gonna bring some coverage skills and some speed," Lindley said. "I'm all about slashiness and quickness. Plus, they say I'm a bigger cornerback for them and that my size is really gonna help."

Lindley said he used the time off to help get his injury from a year ago and get stronger in the lower body.

"I've been working out real hard and running some too. I've been ready to go for some time now and just can't wait to get up there and hit somebody. It's been a while."

Lindley plans to arrive in Lexington on the 8th or 9th of January.
